I'm Christine Elias, a public relations person (saying practitioner just sounds odd) in Toronto, Canada. I live in East York — it was Canada's only Borough — but is now just part of the megacity that is Toronto.
I enjoy my morning coffee. I am not fond of root vegetables (but I'm wondering about the exotic tubers and rhyzomes)....
Hobbies?
Well, there's this. Recently I was asked: 'Just what's the purpose of your web
site?'
The answer is: I have no idea.
At one time it was a place to link to my writing (the kind I get paid for) and web work, but now I'm working on another site that's more about PR and other work stuff.
I collect things like vintage cameras and radios. (I also have a Mac Classic but that is not part of a collection, I just can't part with it. I claim I'm saving it to build a MacAquarium.)
I'm a big reader. Some non-fiction I've recently read:
Satyricon USA : A Journey Across the New Sexual Frontier by Eurydice
Fast Girls: Teenage Tribes and the Myth of the Slut by Emily White
The Good Girl's Guide to Negotiating by Elizabeth Austin and Leslie Whitaker
Nickel And Dimed: On (Not) Getting By In America by Barbara Ehrenreich
Fast Food Nation: The Dark Side of the All-American Meal by Eric Schlosser
Manifesta: Young Women, Feminism, and the Future by Jennifer Baumgardner and Amy Richards
As for fiction, Alice Munro's Hateship, Friendship, Courtship,
Loveship, Marriage
is a fabulous recent read.
What Else?
I enjoy footwear
a great deal, I have a subscription to the Economist
and I'm closer to 40 than 20 (it's the special
skin products that help with the illusion).
